  4. 1. Does it allow recording?
    2. Does it allow tape motor control (via REM plug)?

    1. It does not allow recording, it is a player only and I do not know what the REM plug is.

  5. I was having trouble loading some cassettes with a number of different 1530 Decks, the cassettes were sticking. I had modded a 1530 to accept an audio input, but this was only partly successful. I tested the UCassette with the Phones output from a Yamaha KX-250 Cassette deck and it worked perfectly.

It also comes with some PC software to convert TAP files to .wav then .mp3. There are 473 games in TAP format, a few in .T64 and all have .mp3 tracks. This was a bonus.

Recommended if you want a reliable alternative to the slowly failing 1530 Datasettes.
